So..it turns out I have no "America-y" pictures. So this red one will have to do.Here's what I will be doing on the 4th:Designing a WeddingGoing to see Wall-E with RyanHaving a Sandwich at Which WichHanging out at home, watching Little BritainReading "Water for Elephants"Catching up with my husband, who I think I saw once in June.....LaundrySnuggling with the DogGiving myself a PedicureNappingHere's what I will NOT be doing on the 4th:Standing around with 1,000 sweaty people to see some lights in the skyWatching Loud Cars buzzing around a trackHearing Loud ExplosionsEating a Hot DogWeeping at "Proud to be an American"Wearing Red, White and Blue (together)Driving in Crazy TrafficSitting in a Lawn Chair (I hate lawn chairs.)And that is why I LOVE America. I will never take for granted the freedom that I have in this country to NOT be excited about the 4th of July. I love my country. I am proud and thankful for those who fought and are fighting to keep this country wonderful (one of them being my Dad). I am blessed to live here. I l-o-v-e America. But I do not l-o-v-e the fourth of July. And I don't have to. God Bless this country where I can read a book on my couch on a national holiday. And if I'm lucky, I might see some fireworks from the window. I much more prefer other holidays: Christmas, Valentines Day, my birthday, Easter...these are my personal favorites. So to those people who will be barbequeing, singing, flag waving, firework watching...have a FANTASTIC time. I admire your patriotism. I will be reading in my air conditioning.YAY AMERICA!!!
